Privacy Policy
What information this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. Written to be read, not skimmed past.
Effective date: September 26, 2026
This policy covers vindexlaw.com, operated by Vindex Law, PC, 235 East High Street, Suite 102, Jefferson City, MO 65101. You can reach us at 573-638-8529 or intake@vindexlaw.com.
The short version
- We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. It sets cookies.
- We do not sell your information. We advertise on Google, and we measure which searches and ads lead people to contact us. We do not use your information to follow you around the internet with ads.
- If you contact us or use an intake form, we receive what you choose to send.
- If you agree to receive text messages from us, your mobile number and your consent are never shared with anyone for marketing.
- Nothing you send through this website creates an attorney-client relationship, so please do not send confidential details until we have agreed to represent you.
What information you give us
When you call or email. We receive whatever you tell us, along with your phone number or email address.
When you sign up for text messages. When you use our Text Message Sign-Up page, your name, mobile number or email, whether you are a current client, and whether you agreed to receive texts are stored in Clio Grow, the service we use to manage inquiries on our behalf.
When you use an intake form. Our intake forms are hosted by Clio Grow, a legal practice management service, on a separate website. Information you enter there is collected and stored by Clio on our behalf, and Clio’s own privacy policy also applies.
When you make a payment. Online payments are processed by Clio Payments. Your card details are handled by that service. We do not receive or store your full card number.
What is collected automatically
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used: which pages are visited, how long people stay, roughly where visitors are located by city or region, what device and browser they use, and how they arrived, for example from a search engine. It also records some interactions, such as scrolling and clicking links that leave the site.
Google Analytics sets two cookies in your browser, named _ga and _ga_9TY78M6LNX, which let it recognise a returning visitor. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We look at this information in aggregate. We do not use it to identify individual visitors, and it is retained for no longer than 14 months.
Google Fonts. The typefaces on this site are loaded from Google. When your browser requests them, Google receives your IP address, as it would for any web request.
Server records. Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information about requests to the site, such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested, for security and to keep the site running.
Text messages
With your permission, we may send text messages about your inquiry or your matter, such as appointment reminders, scheduling, requests for documents, and replies to questions you have asked us. We only text people who have given us their consent, and we obtain that consent directly from you, either by checking the box on our Text Message Sign-Up page or by telling a member of our staff that we may text you. Our full Text Message Terms explain the program.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Agreeing to receive texts is not a condition of hiring us. Message frequency varies depending on your matter. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts, and HELP for help, or contact us at 573-638-8529. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Text messaging is not a secure channel. Please do not send confidential or sensitive details about your case by text. If we need that information, we will arrange a more appropriate way to receive it.
Advertising measurement
We run search ads on Google. When someone arrives from one of our ads and then calls us or submits an intake form, Google records that as a conversion so we can tell which ads are worth paying for. This may involve a cookie set by Google, and it may be linked to our Google Analytics data for the same purpose. It tells us that an ad led to a contact. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not use it to target ads to you after you leave this site. Google’s own privacy policy governs what Google does with the data it collects: policies.google.com/privacy.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- We do not share your mobile number or your consent to receive texts with anyone for marketing purposes.
- We do not run remarketing or interest-based advertising, so we do not show you ads elsewhere based on your visit here.
- We do not accept public comments on this website.
- We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Confidentiality, and why it matters here
Contacting us through this website, by email, or by phone does not create an attorney-client relationship. Until we have agreed in writing to represent you, please do not send us confidential or sensitive details about your situation, and in particular nothing you would not want a third party to see.
Once we represent you, what you tell us is protected by the duty of confidentiality and, where it applies, attorney-client privilege. Those protections come from the representation, not from this website.
Who else handles your information
We rely on a small number of service providers to run this website and the firm:
- Google, for analytics and web fonts.
- Clio, for intake forms, client management, and payments.
- Our web hosting provider, which stores and serves this website.
- Our phone and text messaging provider, which carries calls and texts on our behalf. It does not use your information for its own marketing.
All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the Text Message services.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Your choices
Blocking analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can install Google’s own opt-out add-on for Google Analytics, available from Google. The site will work normally either way.
Asking about your information. If you have contacted us and want to know what we hold about you, or want it corrected or deleted where we are not required to keep it, contact us using the details below. Some records must be retained to meet our professional obligations.
Security
This website is served over an encrypted connection. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, which is one more reason not to send confidential details before we represent you.
Changes to this policy
If we change how this website handles information, we will update this page and the effective date above.
